The fact that the use of US cloud

Post by asimj1 »

Pariot Act
The Patriot Act, signed by former US President George W. Bush, allows US authorities such as the FBI or the NSA to access the servers of US companies without a court order.

But how big is this problem? Due to the dominance of US tech giants such as Microsoft, Google or Amazon, a lot of data from private individuals and companies around the world inevitably ends up in the US. For singapore rcs data example, the US cloud collaboration service Airtable, which is trusted by customers all over the world, uses the industry leader Amazon Web Services (AWS), also from the US, to store its customer data. As a result, the data of all AWS customers, including Airtable's customer data, is hosted in US data centers. These are within the scope of the Patriot Act, which allows US authorities access without any consent and ultimately mass surveillance of the data without cause.

Due to the fact that the data protection regulations of the Patriot Act are in stark contradiction to the data protection rules of other countries, many countries are beginning to rethink their approach towards greater data sovereignty.

US clouds have long been a cause for concern from a European perspective providers is associated with data protection risks has long been known in the EU with regard to the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR.
