English around the world: 8 words that change depending on the region

As with any language spoken on more than one continent, English can vary greatly from one country to another. Differences range from pronunciation to vocabulary, sometimes even grammatical structures. Some of these differences are easily overcome, and others can be quite confusing. Here are a few examples of words that are used differently in different countries:




Pants
