I've been working for myself since 2018, clients from Russia to New Zealand. Different projects. Different time zones. Before that, I worked for hire for more than 9 years in different positions, but only after going freelance did I understand how important it really is to be able to manage the direction of your work and focus.

It's not what you do, but what you DON'T do. Because in the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to waste your available hours. Now I'll tell you about the tools that, in my experience, work great.

1. Goal setting through SMART goals

This is the first step to efficiency. Use the SMART model to make goals specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound. Tools like Trello can help with this by allowing you to create Kanban boards for each goal and subtasks for each step.

A Kanban board is a visual tool that helps you break down large tasks into manageable chunks. The idea is simple: create columns labeled “To Do,” “In Progress,” and “Done,” and move tasks poland customer email list from “To Do” to “Done” as they’re completed.

3. Pareto principle for task prioritization

This principle states that 20% of your efforts will bring 80% of the results. Focus on the most important tasks that will give the maximum result. To do this, you can use analytical tools to identify these critical 20%. For example, track which clients bring you how much money per hour. Naturally, you need to refuse clients who eat up a lot of time and pay you little per hour.
