Banners will now be viewed in a different way. Lotame holds the key. They have devised a tool that will allow users to know when an advertisement is viewed, for how long, and how visible it is on the Internet user's screen.

The name of the new metric tool is Time Spent, and it is specifically designed to work on social networks. Although they plan to expand its scope, according to the words of Lotame CEO Andy Monfried, as reported by ClickZ . At the moment its scope of action is limited to networks such as Bebo, Fotolog and some other smaller ones. It does not yet operate with the most popular ones in the United States such as Facebook and MySpace.

The Boston-based subsidiary of Interpublic Group, Hill Holiday, will be testing it with its client Liberty Mutual. Its corporate campaign Responsibility: What's Your Policy will be tested with the new binance data system, and the new system will also be tested.

“We hope that Time Spent will provide valuable insights into how to orchestrate an effective advertising campaign; a metric that provides clear value for brand campaigns while the others are only an indirect reflection of profits,” said Seb Maitra, vice president of media, analysis and research in a statement.

For Monfried, this technology could mean a change in how advertisers buy advertising space on social networks, leading to a time-based format. “People are spending more time on social media and less time on television these days; advertisers may feel more comfortable buying 30 seconds or a minute on a social network like they do on television,” said the CEO.
