Staff Reporter: Members of RAB-8 Madaripur camp have arrested two fake doctors from College Road area of Madaripur city and Hauzdi Bazar of Sadar upazila. The two doctors were sentenced to six months' imprisonment each by a mobile court for providing medical services using fake medical certificates.
Acting Commander (Additional Superintendent of Police) of RAB-8 Madaripur Camp, Mohammad Tajul Islam, said in a press briefing on Monday night that based on a secret tip-off, a raid was conducted at a place called "Drishti Sheba (Eye Care Center) Medical Hall" next to the Sangha Hospital adjacent to College Road in Madaripur city on Monday evening.
During this time, fake doctor MM Nurul Islam (48) country email list was arrested. During the operation, 4 fake medical certificates were recovered from him. Later, Executive Magistrate Al Mamun, through a mobile court, sentenced the accused to 6 months' imprisonment under Section 28 of the Medical and Dental Council Act, 2010.
The convicted fake doctor MM Nurul Islam is the son of Md. Saheb Mal of Charfate Bahadurpur village of Sadar upazila. He has been providing medical services through his own chamber in the College Road area for a long time.
On the other hand, another fake doctor named Sanjay Halder (34) has opened a chamber called Simanta Medical Hall in Hauzdi Bazar of Sadar Upazila and has been providing fake treatment to countless people. In providing treatment, he uses various devices including laptops to diagnose diseases. In this case, he diagnoses and provides treatment for all kinds of complex and difficult diseases including heart disease, kidney, lung, liver problems, diabetes, tumors, cancer. After diagnosing the disease, he gives medicines from different companies. The fake doctor is the son of Nagen Halder of Hauzdi area.
Acting Commander (Additional Superintendent of Police) of RAB-8 Madaripur Camp Mohammad Tajul Islam said that the operation was carried out with the assistance of Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman of the Madaripur Civil Surgeon's Office to detect fraud. Later, Executive Magistrate Al Mamun sentenced each of the detainees to 6 months' imprisonment. Various parts of the equipment used for diagnosing diseases and fake certificates were seized.
