The fear practically drips from the screen

Post by Bappy10 »

You probably know the scene from the movie Aliens, in which the android Bishop is challenged to perform his knife trick again. When performing his stunt, Bishop grabs the hand of one of the crew members of the spaceship and places his own hand on top of it. Then he goes at a breakneck speed with the razor-sharp knife between the outstretched fingers.

With my toes curled I saw this fragment for the first time.
In June 2008, the lead singers of the band Lulu and the Lampshades recorded the song You're Gonna Miss Me. They used list to data a pair of plastic cups as musical accompaniment. The video went viral and has now been viewed more than three million times. It inspired many people to record their own version of this so-called Cup Song. Actress Anna Kendrick was also inspired and taught herself the song. Kendrick even performed the song in the film Pitch Perfect (2012) and was later asked to do it again on David Letterman's talk show.

In 2011, Rusty Cage used the melody of the above song to give it his own interpretation. He wrote new lyrics entitled “The Five Finger Fillet” and performed the routine of the android Bishop to the beat of the Cup Song. At the end of the song he sings “chop chop chop” in an accelerated tempo and you as a spectator are waiting for one of his fingers to be chopped off. Cage's video was noticed, but never matched the success of the ladies of Lulu and the Lampshades.
