Maintaining a Facebook page takes a lot of time and creativity. Fortunately, Facebook has some handy tools to save time and effort. In this screencast I show you how to schedule Facebook posts by time, location or language. This way you can conveniently plan ahead, reach your target audience in a very targeted way, and even post 'in the past' on your timeline.
Tip 1: Schedule your posts for a later time
A handy way to plan ahead: schedule your posts in advance! Look at the bottom left of your post, list to data you will see a clock. Click on it, and you can set the time and date that the post will be published. So you could work a few posts ahead. You can also enter a date in the past, then the post will be placed on the timeline on that date. Suppose you had a nice drink with colleagues earlier this year and you just find the photos on your thumb drive, then you can still place them, and also at the right time in the timeline.
Tips
Please note the following:
Posting in the future can be done by date and time (up to 10 minutes precisely).
Tip 2: Choose your language
This is especially a useful tip if you have an international audience. For example, I deal with Dutch and American clients, because I live in America, and I use this option regularly. Click on the 'public' button on your Facebook message - you will see here that you can display the language. If I have a video message from Frankwatching, for example, I set it here that it is visible to all people who speak Dutch.
Tip 3: Choose your location
You can also reach specific locations with your Facebook messages. Suppose you want to reach people who live in the Netherlands or Belgium and who also speak Dutch (so actually avoid the French-speaking Belgians), then you can set that up well here. Simply go to the 'public' button with your Facebook message, and look at location.
Here you can set countries and even cities that you want to reach with your Facebook message.
Handy if you want to target your message very specifically.
