In just 3 months since its online launch (March 2010), ViaVip – the first Spanish capital travel outlet – has attracted the attention of the sector.

Barcelona, June 16, 2010.- The current economic situation has been the ideal breeding ground for the Outlet format to take off in the tourism sector, and has fostered the combination of variables necessary for its development: greater flexibility in hotel prices to achieve full occupancy; greater flexibility for tourists at their destination in exchange for excellent prices; and ViaVip as their natural meeting point.

The initiative was born from Arturo Moreno , founding botim data partner and CEO of ViaVip. Arturo is a born entrepreneur, with extensive experience in tourism and the Internet, and he has been able to see the market niche created in the tourism sector as a result of the economic crisis. For Arturo , “the crisis sharpens the ingenuity of consumers and broadens their horizons. People do not want to stop traveling, but rather want to do so by taking advantage of opportunities, and are willing to adapt to the destination based on a good offer.”

Other prominent entrepreneurs from the sector have joined the project as partners: Pablo Espinosa , as Technical Director, Jesús Monleón (founder of emagister and Seedrocket , who has also been responsible for the technological investment area of Caixa Capital Risc ) and Vicente Arias (participant in the creation of Softonic , the Spanish website with the greatest number of visits; founder of Seedrocket and Keecua ).

The way this travel outlet works is very simple. ViaVip launches its partners – through its own website, via email and social networks – offers of a certain duration, which can range from 30% to 70% off the rate , and which represent the minimum price guaranteed by the supplier during the period of validity of the offer: that is, ViaVip offers cannot be found anywhere else at that price. In exchange, the partner – hotels and wholesalers – obtains exclusivity of the services in their city for ViaVip partners , and a marketing campaign at zero cost.

Currently, the offers and big discounts are on top-class Spanish hotels (4 and 5 stars), with weekly or fortnightly promotions, but during the month of July, the expansion of products and services to international destinations is planned, as well as the incorporation of offers on cruises . “We only work with quality hotels,” adds Arturo, “so the quality-price ratio is excellent in all cases, and in many, it is even incredible.”

Customer service is also typical of a “Private Club” and is an essential part of its success: they offer telephone support from Monday to Friday until 8pm and guarantee an email response in less than 4 hours from Monday to Sunday: there is always a person on call at weekends to resolve any incidents.
