It's simple. iPhone protects your files from accidental deletion. That's why you continue to see them on your phone. Deleted photos can be found in the Photos folder → Albums → Recently Deleted:

This folder is an intermediate stage egypt mobile database storing and permanently deleting photos from the iPhone. Files are stored here for a month, after which they are permanently deleted. Each photo has a mark "2 days", "5 days", "20 days", etc. It reminds you how many days are left before the complete deletion.

If you've deleted sensitive photos and don't want them to appear in your albums for a month, clean the folder manually. Select the files you want from the Recently Deleted section and click Delete.

If you have iCloud Photos set up, your files will also be deleted from the cloud.

Now you don’t have to worry that someone will see your deleted photos.
