There are several interesting ideas. For example, an economical auto-feeder can be assembled from an old car disk, a basin of a suitable diameter and a plastic water bottle with a capacity of 5-10 liters.
Components for a homemade feeder with economical feed consumption
Look for a disk of the type shown in the photo: with a large number of small holes along the outer edge. In its middle, cut a hole the size of the bottle neck. Cut out the bottom of the bottle cap, leaving only a threaded ring. Pour the feed mixture into the bottle, put the disk on it, press it with the cut cap. Pour the feed into the basin, install the structure on top.
It's a success))
In order not to disassemble the feeder every time you need to add food to the bottle, you can cut the bottom, making a semblance of a lid out of it. Then the bottle itself can be secured more seriously: fixation with a thread from the lid is not very reliable. But such an improvement does not allow rummaging in the food, and no one will climb into the basin.
You can make a feeder from a piece of plastic loan data pipe. Cut holes about 7 cm in diameter on both sides. They don't necessarily have to be round - square or rectangular ones will do too. Install a 90° corner with the socket facing up and a small piece of pipe on the ends: you can pour food in here.

A simple but capacious bunker feeder is a decent chest with a folding bar attached at the bottom. When open, feed is poured onto it.
Another option for an economical feeder is made from plastic sewer pipes. But this is already a bunker design: the supply is decent. The design is simple, and the consumption is reduced.
An even more interesting design of the chicken feeder in the video: with a lid. To open it, you need to jump on it.

Homemade Chicken Drinkers
It's almost the same story with drinking bowls. Only here water is sprayed, which, when mixed with droppings, produces an extremely persistent smell, as well as dirt. All this does not contribute to easier and faster cleaning. Therefore, the choice of drinking bowls is no less important than the feeders.
