What?
Artists or companies can crowdfund a project via voordekunst . It is not just about money: “For me, it is also largely about creating support, showing who is behind your project, who is for art,” says Cremers. By donating money, people show that they are behind a project. In this way, a project builds support.

Not every project is accepted by voordekunst. About ten projects are submitted each week, of which two or three actually make it to the site. To make a project a success, there are a number of important rules: a project must be concrete, it must have a clear beginning and end. "You must be able to say in one sentence: this is what I want to do and I need this amount of support for it," says Cremers.
Voordekunst is growing fast. Since its launch in September 2010, the site has attracted approximately 20,000 unique visitors until mid-2011. Some 600 people have actually contributed to one or more art projects during that period. That number has now grown to more than 2872. Thanks to them, 38 projects have been 100% funded.
Cremers continues to work on reaching a new, broader audience. The so-called sandwich formula, unknown artists among well-known names, is a possible instrument. Publicity via channels that are not yet tapped is also not avoided. “A lot is written about voordekunst. You could also think about the question of what the ways are to reach a broader audience, also in terms of publicity. There may be a TV format in voordekunst. Those are things that I am investigating.”
Why?
Voordekunst wants to stimulate artists to show more entrepreneurship. Crowdfunding croatia phone number list is ideal for this. The traditional way, applying for a subsidy from a fund, is passive. You apply, have to wait three months and then hear yes or no. And if it is no, you are three months further and you still have nothing.
fordekunst 1 year crowdfundingWith crowdfunding, you are busy bringing your plan to the attention of a potential audience at the same time. “You can see for yourself how it is going and you can also influence it in the meantime. If you see that it is not going well, you have to bring the project to the attention of the public again or you may have to offer a different reward, then you can just do that.” In short, as an artist you are more at the helm.
The platform was explicitly not set up as a response to the budget cuts in arts and culture. It is also unsuitable for that. The platform lends itself well to getting projects financed, but not as a means for structural financing of an organisation. Within the sector itself, voordekunst is sometimes still viewed with a certain amount of scepticism: “It probably won’t be anything, it’s just a stopgap measure, it won’t solve the budget cuts. That’s not the case, but by looking at it that way, you really underestimate a very important new source of financing. If the whole of the Netherlands knows that you can finance arts and culture on voordekunst, then it can definitely become an important branch of financing.”
