To prevent the public from falling into resignation in the face of anxiety-provoking information, experts emphasize the importance of providing solutions right away — for example, by giving a voice to those whose work helps mitigate the impact of climate change. In an area that engages the responsibility of actors from all over society, and which is teeming with new ideas, initiatives and innovations, the media, by highlighting solutions, are themselves contributing to them.

"If the Chinese press were free, the coronavirus might not have become a pandemic." (RSF) accused China on March 24 of being directly responsible for the scale of the health crisis.
An analysis by the University of Southampton published the same month, and picked up by the international press freedom organisation, indicated that the number of Covid-19 cases in China could probably have been reduced by 86% if measures to combat the epidemic had been brought forward by two weeks. But in a country ranked 177th out of 180 countries ( Reporting by the World Press Freedom Index 2020 ), censorship and media control quickly prevented the free flow of information.
