1 billion!
There are also reasons to think that Facebook will not go under quickly. According to some, it is 'too big' to be challenged by critics or competitors. A user base of almost 1 billion (or one in seven inhabitants of the earth!) is not something you can just lose. Of course, people will always leave and the site will not be able to grow any further in terms of visitor numbers at some point, but according to experts, a lot has to happen before Facebook will have only two or three hundred million users left. Internationally, that is indeed quite unthinkable, but nationally we have seen the same thing happen with Hyves.
It is not insurmountable, but Facebook has nevertheless become a concept, both online and offline. Companies, large, small, international or local, have discovered the social network site and link to their company pages on both their website and, for example, in the store, at the office, in e-mail signatures or on business cards. Even ministries have discovered Facebook . But just like with the previously mentioned social networks that are on the decline, that does not say all that much. In the heyday of Hyves, then Prime Minister Jan-Peter Balkenende or PvdA party leader Wouter Bos were also regularly active on that site. And if they notice that the site is becoming less popular and another site (read: Facebook) is attracting more visitors, they simply shift their activities to that site.
Facebook page ministry
The same is even more true for commercial companies, which largely fill Facebook's coffers with denmark telegram data their advertisements and advertising campaigns. If they notice that another site is becoming more popular or less controversial, they will not hesitate to pack their bags from Facebook today and continue their marketing on other social networking sites. And therein lies the danger for Facebook.
