After some time to think

Post by asimj1 »

I experienced something similar with "Rundschau" presenter Sandro Brotz. When he was the focus of public criticism for his Mörgeli and Ueli Maurer shows, I invited him. I explained to him that, thanks to my independence, I could credibly address this issue even at SRG. This would create transparency in the country's most important philippines rcs data medium, and everyone would benefit from it. Sandro Brotz declined, saying: "No, I don't have to justify myself." This astonished me. "Of all people, you, who invite people week after week who have to justify themselves to you in front of the camera, are trying to make such an explanation?" I replied. "If everyone behaves like that, you'll have no one left in your studio." But he stuck to his rejection.

Was I wrong to be surprised? Is it wrong to assume that tough journalists have to behave tougher than others when they find themselves in the firing line? Have they forfeited the right to duck away in extreme situations like many others because of their journalistic hunting instinct? Is this an unsavory double standard, or are they two completely different functions between which journalists do not want to recognize any connection? It almost seems that way.
