You may already be “in”

Companies can of course officially stay out of social networks. But you can't prevent the majority of your own employees from using them and exchanging information. The boundaries between private, public and professional are becoming increasingly blurred. Those who identify with their employer will also speak positively about them there. Or, for example, proudly share their status updates.

Conversely, no amount of control in the world can suppress the virtual office gossip that colleagues use to personally exchange information about work-related matters with each other. But if a company stays completely "outside" it is missing out on every opportunity to hear about negative developments or, on the other hand, to use positive ones.

A very important, perhaps even the most important, aspect instagram data of a company's presence on Facebook is employer branding. Students network via Facebook groups, manage their contacts there and exchange information about their studies. For them, it is quite natural to meet potential employers in the social network. B2B companies in structurally weak regions have long been using the opportunity to directly address young talent in virtual space, where they are initially still far away.

Who has control over the information about your company name - including, but not only, on Facebook? It is not just isolated cases where companies are represented on Facebook, even with pages that look completely official but were set up by someone else . In the best case, even by enthusiastic employees who become the mouthpiece without a mandate from the company management. Depending on how good their communication skills are, this can sometimes make a strange impression.

I recently heard of a customer service employee who posted all of his employer's repair cases as photos on a Facebook page. It was done out of enthusiasm, but it was a bit short-sighted. It certainly did not fit in with his employer's communication concept. However, the employer only found out about it by chance and years later.
