Do you digitally disconnect when you're away from work?

Post by bitheerani319 »

It's eight o'clock in the evening and you have an email or a WhatsApp from your boss. What do you do? Do you answer or not? At a time when the boundaries between the workplace and the working day are increasingly rcs data saudi arabia blurred and access to new technologies is widespread, a debate is emerging about the right of workers to disconnect from work in favour of a better balance between personal and family life.

In this respect, France has become a pioneer. Its latest labour reform, which came into force on 1 January, provides for the right of workers to disconnect by regulating the use of new technologies outside working hours . The French government is therefore calling on companies with more than 50 employees to regulate the use of digital media, although it does not include specific measures or stipulate sanctions for those organisations that ignore it.

In our country, the situation is different. Although the Spanish Government has acknowledged on several occasions that it is studying a possible regulation of the right to digital disconnection once the working day has ended, as of today there is nothing concrete on the table. Meanwhile, the AXA Group has become the first company operating in Spain to include in its new collective agreement the right to digital disconnection once the working day has ended. Specifically, the document signed by the AXA Group in Spain and Comisiones Obreras establishes that “except in cases of force majeure or exceptional circumstances, AXA recognises the right of workers not to respond to professional emails or messages outside of their working hours.”
