Today we will immerse you in the world of Pinterest and introduce you to its specifics.

Pinterest has 100 million users, and of course, it is predominantly female. Not that it matters, it's just that women are much more inspired and look for unconventional ideas to implement. And in terms of content, Pinterest can be found on everything from fashion to DIY. 75% of Pinterest traffic comes from mobile phones, and the average time spent on the site is 14.2 minutes.

Why are we listing all this? It's quite normal, if you want to forex data use the platform, it's good to be familiar with the audience inside.

On Pinterest you have the opportunity to create so-called “Boards” , or if we have to translate it – a board is a thematic board that we create to pin (hang) ideas on it, just like we put reminder notes or announcements on a cork board in real life. Images can be pinned to the board that have a title and description, and most often they also contain an active link that takes us to the source of this image or the article that we wanted to save on the board. The images themselves are called “Pins” and every pin that we see can be saved (pinned) on one of our boards, or we can simply like it if we don’t want to have it on our boards.

About the content

As with anything else, a good foundation on Pinterest is good content. Build a core around which to build your boards. And that core should be aligned with what your audience likes and what you want to convey to them. On Pinterest, boards are where you share pins, so choose meaningful and original board names.

To make your boards effective and impressive, in addition to interesting names, create keyword-rich content. If you are new to this network, you can start with two different board ideas. If you have already been on Pinterest but have not maintained your boards, delete the old and unnecessary ones and start building new ones. Make sure you are not duplicating anything old, check that all links are working, and optimize the descriptions for keywords.

Re-pin to find out what works for you

Pinterest has 100 million users, 75% of its traffic comes from mobile phones, and the average time spent on the site is 14.2 minutes.

80% of content shared on Pinterest is re-pinned from other people’s Pins. Start your Pinterest journey by researching what your audience likes, then save and re-pin relevant Pins. When pinning, stick to the 80/20 rule – share 80% other people’s content and 20% your own.

Set yourself the following goals as you start:

Build a connection with others who pin by following them, liking and re-pining what they share, and commenting.
Build relevant content to find your audience and build a following.
Find out what your niche likes so you can share more of it.
