Below is an example of a sitemap.
Creating and configuring a sitemap
There are some recommendations on using sitemap from Google and Yandex search engines.
Google has the ability to support 4 sitemap formats: RSS, txt, xml, "Google sites" (if the site is created using the Google service). Yandex only supports the xml format.
Google does not support the <priority> tag.
To use in Google, you need to add links to the sitemap in robots.txt. of the map for viewing by the search engine.
To specify the path to the map, use the webmaster's france email list account or write the url in robots.txt. It is better to use 2 methods at once. If the resource has many pages, then several maps are created.
Google restrictions:
sitemap size up to 50 MB;
number of links – no more than 50 thousand.
Yandex puts forward similar conditions.
A sitemap is one of the important stages in SEO promotion of a resource, so it is worth filling it out with great care.
Types of cards
There are 2 types of cards:
XML maps. They are designed exclusively for search bots, for collecting and processing links - categories, subcategories and individual pages. The file is a set of tags, which contain links to pages and articles.
HTML maps. Designed for users. They are a separate page, which consists of links, divided according to categories and subcategories. In cases where catalogs are not useful, then it looks like a catalog of articles. You can go to such a map from the menu on the main page.
Map creation is also divided into 2 types.
