Eroica Caffé is proof that continuing to pedal is the only option

Post by bitheerani319 »

The spirit of cycling has kept Miguel and Graciela going even in the worst conditions. Eroica Caffé opens its doors to us.
Miguel and Graciela are the founders of Eroica Caffé, a meeting place for cyclists that also offers delicious homemade pasta. A year ago, when the pandemic hit, they pulled down the shutters, but they couldn't stay still for more than two days. Their business was at stake, which, after all, is their life. They found strength wherever they could and, inspired by the cycling spirit that characterizes them, they have faced the toughest year of their business by pedaling tirelessly.

They star in the first installment of our 'Stories' section of kuwait phone number list Magazine , where small businesses open their doors and their hearts to tell us in depth their great and exciting stories.

A meeting place between two worlds
On the street Consell de Cent in Barcelona, at number 350, you will surely see groups of cyclists coming into the same place after a long stage, couples from the neighbourhood who love pasta, and people in suits looking for a coffee during their work break. This is because we are not talking about a regular establishment, we are talking about Eroica Caffé, a meeting place that is at the same time a cycling club, a restaurant serving homemade pasta and a café.

Why this union? What do bikes, pasta and coffee have in common? Miguel Santalices, co-owner of Eroica Caffé, explained it to us the first time we visited Eroica Caffé: “Eroica is a meeting place that emulates what in Italy they call 'la casa del popolo'. Before, when cycling was practiced, the refreshment stops were made in these types of places, and they were not like now, with an energy bar and a bottle of water, you had real food: sausage, pasta, coffee... and we wanted to adapt that to the city.” But, as Graciela, also co-owner, stated, Eroica is not an establishment, it is almost a way of life. “The name Eroica comes from the cycling club of the same name, founded about 25 years ago. Its motto is the satisfaction of effort and the pleasure of conquest. Everything is born from there, from that hard but not competitive cycling, where proximity and respect for the land prevail. It's a bit of a way of life .”
