google-analytics-4-method-page participation rate statistics-1

Post by shaownhasan »

Instead of tracking website cuba b2b leads clicks, the new analytics platform tracks events, including page views, clicks, scrolls, and more. This has some follow-on effects. For example, instead of tracking bounce rates, you look at statistics for page engagement rates.

You only get one view of the data in GA4
If you use Universal regularly, you probably have different data views set up. You can set up separate views for the main site, test pages, and more.

In GA4, all your analytics data is in one view. Your website (and app, if you have one) will be considered an "asset".

If you want to separate regular pages from tests, or site metrics from app data, you can still do that using filtered reports. But you can't set individual viewing modes.

You need event parameters to get fine-grained data
Remember when I said GA4 tracks events? Well, even though the events are much more numerous than Universal's hits, they're still painted fairly broadly.

For example, if you track link clicks as events in GA4, it will only track clicks. If you want to know where the user was on the page when they clicked or more details about their destination, you need to set event parameters.
