Finished tweeting? Or do you want to take a break? Twitter offers the option to deactivate or delete your account. In this video I show you how to delete your Twitter account. I also tell you how to temporarily deactivate your Twitter account.
you need to log in to the Twitter website . Deleting your Twitter account from a mobile app is not possible.
Once you are logged in, go to account settings and click on 'deactivate my account' at the bottom of the page. Then information about deleting your profile follows, click OK here. Twitter then asks for your password again, to verify that it is really you. After you have confirmed this, your account is deactivated.
Deactivate vs. Delete Twitter
Twitter will retain all of your information and data for 30 days list to data after you deactivate your account, after which your entire account will be permanently deleted. If you log in again within 30 days, your account will automatically be reactivated. If you really want to get rid of your Twitter account, do not log in after you have deactivated it.
A Twitter break
Everyone needs a break sometimes. Taking a short 'break' from Twitter is possible via account deactivation, provided you log back in before those 30 days. If you don't want to risk your account being deleted, you can also set your tweets to private (the so-called 'lock'). You can then decide who sees your tweets and manually approve new followers.
