Power BI Visuals FAQ

Post by bitheerani319 »

The admin portal allows you to manage Power BI visuals for your organization.

How can an administrator manage the organization's Power BI visuals?

On the Organization Visuals tab of the Admin Portal, the admin can view and manage all of the organization's Power BI bolivia mobile database across the enterprise . This includes adding, disabling, enabling, and deleting Power BI visuals.

Users in your organization can easily find Power BI visuals and import them into their reports directly from Power BI Desktop or the Power BI Service.

When your organization's administrator uploads a new version of a Power BI visual, everyone gets the same updated version. Any reports that use the updated Power BI visuals are automatically updated.

Users can find their organization's Power BI visuals in the built-in Power BI Desktop and in the Power BI service in the organization's repository, under the MY ORGANIZATION tab .

If an admin uploads a Power BI visual from the public marketplace to the organization repository using "Add visual > from AppSource", will it automatically update once a vendor updates the visual in the public marketplace?
Yes, the visual will be automatically updated via the public marketplace. If the visual is certified, the certification will be maintained, including additional features such as exporting to PDF or PowerPoint.

Is there any way to disable the organization repository?
No, users always see the MY ORGANIZATION tab in Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service. If an administrator disables or deletes all Power BI visuals for the organization from the admin portal, the organizational store will be empty.

If the administrator disables Power BI visuals from the Admin Portal (tenant settings), will users still have access to the organization's Power BI visuals?
Yes, if your administrator disables Power BI visuals in the Admin Portal, it will not affect your organizational repository.

Some organizations disable Power BI visuals and enable only selected visuals that have been imported and uploaded by the Power BI administrator to the organizational repository.

Disabling Power BI visuals in the Admin Portal is not enforced in Power BI Desktop. Desktop users will still be able to add and use Power BI visuals from the public marketplace in their own reports. However, these public Power BI visuals will no longer render after being published to the Power BI service and will generate an appropriate error.

When the Power BI visuals setting in the admin portal is enforced, users in the Power BI service cannot import Power BI visuals from the public marketplace. Only visuals from the organizational repository can be imported.

What are the benefits of Power BI visuals in the organizational repository?
Everyone receives the same version of the visual, which is controlled by the Power BI administrator. After the administrator updates the version of the visual in the Admin Portal, all users in the organization receive the updated version automatically.

There is no need to share visual files via email or shared folders. Organizational repository offerings are visible to all logged-in members.
