'One thing was clear to me after visiting the 3rd day of The Next Web 2011 in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam: the social web is being milked dry. Almost all apps and start-ups that passed by played on sharing your behavior with acquaintances. What you eat, what you buy, where you are, who you meet, how fanatically you exercise, we will share everything with our friends, The Next Web seemed to tell us.
But, be careful, only with your friends! Sharing our information with only a limited group of people is the future. Instead of companies that exploit us, like Facebook, the future belongs to those who “implode”. These new companies do not parasitize on our integrity and privacy. At least that is the opinion of keynote speaker and sociologist, philosopher and artist Alexander Bard (pictured left). Bard: “We are going to live in a world of cults and sects”.
Combination of physical, virtual and human world
There was room for philosophical reflections at The Next Web, but it was mainly about philippines phone number list the 'apps' and tips for entrepreneurship: concrete, practical and inspiring for perhaps your own start-up. I deliberately mention apps, because web platforms are out, it seems. Although speaker Robert Scoble strongly advised us to update our Google profile - because the search engine giant will announce a new social network next week - there is no new Facebook or Twitter on the horizon. Connecting to those two is the motto. According to Scoble, the common feature of the new apps is the combination of the physical, virtual and human world.
