General Data Protection Regulation Definition

Post by Shishirgano9 »

The modern digital world offers a whole range of simplifications and benefits for everyday work. But companies are also faced with new challenges. With digitalization, another issue has become more acute, data protection. The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force in May 2016 and took effect on May 25, 2018. But what exactly does this regulation contain and what does it mean specifically for your company?

The "informational self-determination" of every facebook database individual has long been anchored in the Basic Law along with the inviolability of human dignity. However, increasing digitalization, ever larger amounts of data to be processed and thus the increasing importance of data protection and data security have brought this fundamental right into sharp focus in recent years.

The General Data Protection Regulation is the unanimous response of the EU states to ensure that every EU citizen can decide for themselves about the release and use of their personal data.

But what exactly is the GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR for short , replaced the previous national data protection law in May 2018 after a two-year transition phase and will regulate the processing of personal data in both a business and public context in the future. Adjustments were made with regard to the rights of those affected and the obligations of those responsible.
