This study has shown that the dream of Spanish women is not to work in important companies, but to have their own business and build a career as entrepreneurs . In fact, the data show that 32% of Spanish women say they already have a specific business idea and 57% would like to start their own business to combat the lack of job opportunities. Specifically, the profile of an entrepreneurial woman that this study draws is that of a professional between 18 and 35 years of age (47%) and between 36 and 50 years of age (38%), mainly mothers. In fact, 45% of them have a partner and children.
As indicated in the study, 57% of the respondents highlighted that the lack of job opportunities is one of the main reasons for starting a business . 47% of them also indicated the satisfaction and personal fulfilment that can be achieved through entrepreneurship as another important reason. On the other hand, 23% value the freedom to choose their working hours, 20% believe that they will have better income prospects and 15% consider that being able to choose their workplace is one of the main reasons for starting a business.
Another conclusion can also be drawn from the study: being an entrepreneur has a positive connotation for Spanish women. According to the respondents, female entrepreneurs identify themselves as hard-working, intelligent, competent, brave, dynamic and independent people.
